In another step towards a return to a fuller liturgical offering we are delighted that our regular Choir are returning to sing at the Solemn Mass at 11am every Sunday.
We're incredibly grateful that we've been able to offer music in our Masses since July, and have been greatly blessed that members of the choir have been acting as 'cantors', singing the plainsong 'propers' of the Mass and a motet. But for the first time since March they will be singing together on October 4th, and to mark this happy occasion our Director of Music, Gregory Drott has composed a special setting of the introit as the first piece they'll be singing.
We're looking forward to this happy return, and to an increase of the music programme over the next few weeks. A highlight for November will be the Service for Advent Sunday evening, when a darkened church will be warmed by the glow of candles, and glorious choral music and readings will herald our preparations for the birth of Christ.
