Work has begun on the installation of a new lighting scheme to enhance our experience of the church building, and to improve the facilities that we are able to offer for those using the church for concerts, as well as for worship.
The original poor and failing lighting has been costly to maintain, and had become dangerous as well as ineffectual. Over the next few weeks the church is being rewired, redundant cabling is being removed, and defunct fittings will be replaced.
We're all very excited to see how the new state of the art scheme will transform what had previously become a rather dingy building - and in the meantime we think the temporary lights lend a rather 'festive' quality to the church.
While the work takes place the church will be closed to the public, apart from service times and at the weekend.
