Fr Philip was ordained in 2000 and served for three years as curate of St Martin’s, Ruislip.
In 2003 he moved to become Shrine Priest at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, a centre of pilgrimage and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary in Norfolk. He returned to the Diocese of London in 2008 as Vicar of the parish of St Edmund the King, Northwood Hills, and served as Area Dean of Harrow from 2013. In 2016 he was Interim Priest Administrator of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and became Priest in Charge of St Stephen’s in September 2017, and was made Vicar on St Stephen's Day 2021. He is a Guardian of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, a member of the Society of the Holy Cross and serves on the Liturgical Commission of the Church of England. He was installed as a Prebendary of St Paul's Cathedral in May 2023.
Fr Philip was born and brought up in rural Worcestershire. He read Theology at Westminster College, Oxford and Heythrop College, London and trained for the priesthood at St Stephen’s House, Oxford.
